Thomas Beatman is an Integrated Bioscience PhD student at the University of Akron, whose research blends game-based learning, science communication, and evolution literacy development. He has taken his passion for playing and designing hobby-games and incorporated it into developing laboratory class modules and informal education interventions. He is also a proud father of one adorable Manx cat and an aspiring ukelele player. In his spare time he is most often lost in his thoughts; he has not been seen in several weeks. He is currently developing a game illustrating the role of runoff in algal blooms in Lake Erie, as well as several gameful projects examining various evolutionary concepts.
