Stephanie DeMarco
Stephanie is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles and a freelance science writer. Her research focuses on how skin-penetrating parasitic worms sense and locate their human hosts. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of Signal to Noise Magazine, an online science magazine run by graduate students and postdocs, and has written for the epigenetics blog, EpiBeat, as a freelance writer. Stephanie was a 2019 AAAS Mass Media Fellow at the Los Angeles Times where she wrote both news and feature stories. She also served on the Organizing Committee for ComSciCon-SciWri-2019. When not wrangling her parasites or writing, Stephanie enjoys traveling, tap dancing, and attempting to make the perfect plate of pasta carbonara.
