Stephanie is a PhD candidate in Molecular Biology at the University of California Los Angeles. She studies how the parasite Trypanosoma brucei regulates its social behavior. When she’s not wrangling her parasites in the lab, Stephanie enjoys participating in science outreach and communication projects. She is the current Editor-in-Chief of Signal to Noise Magazine, a non-profit graduate student-run science magazine that aims to increase public understanding of science. She also does some freelance science writing for the epigenetics blog, EpiBeat. Stephanie attended ComSciCon 2018, and is excited to help organize ComSciCon-SciWri 2019! In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, tap dancing, and attempting to make the perfect plate of pasta carbonara.
