I am a PhD student in genetics at Clemson University. I use the fruit fly to model Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and try to understand the role that genetics plays in disease severity. I enjoy volunteering with the Greenwood Genetic Center to bring genetics (and fruit flies) into local classrooms and the broader community. Working with the students and teachers has been a highlight of graduate school and I hope to keep genetics outreach a part of my future career! I’m a huge college sports fan and spend my free time watching sports, trying new recipes and playing with my cat.
