Ms. Michelle Hathaway is a third year doctoral student at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the School of Public Health, Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (EOHS). Her research interests focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies in Illinois, the effects of climate change on vulnerable worker populations, labor and environmental justice, and sustainability in diverse and marginalized communities. Hathaway is a research assistant for the Building Resilience Against Climate Effects-Illinois (BRACE-IL) project. The BRACE-IL project works to protect Illinois residents’ health by reducing the health impacts from a changing climate through the development and implementation of a climate change adaptation plan. Hathaway received her MPH in Community Health Education from Indiana University - Bloomington and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
