Marina Santiago
Graduate Student, Harvard in the Chemical Biology Program

Marina received her BS from Yale in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and is currently a 3rd year PhD student at Harvard in the Chemical Biology Program. She is interested in understanding antibiotic-resistant bacteria in order to find better ways to treat antibiotic-resistant infections. In particular, she studies the interactions between genes and antibiotics in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Marina enjoys communicating science and has given a public lecture on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance through Harvard SITN. In her free time, she enjoys obstacle course races, kick boxing, and knitting.
