Lory Henderson is a 5th year PhD candidate in Microbiology and a 2019 inductee into the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. She is currently working under the direction of Dr. Martin Wiedmann in the Food Safety Laboratory at Cornell University. Her research investigates the impact of dairy-specific environmental conditions on L. monocytogenes’ sensitivity to antimicrobial treatment. She is a member of the Cornell Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) Program and volunteers for various K-12 science outreach activities and workshops. She is also a Graduate Resident Fellow (GRF) in Flora Rose House and enjoys living and working with Cornell’s undergraduate community. In her free time, Lory loves biking, traveling, cooking, and telling jokes.
