Lauren Chambliss
Lauren Chambliss teaches and practices communication, from social media to traditional print. A former prize-winning journalist and columnist in Washington, DC, Lauren’s teaching focuses on the power of written communication to reach broad audiences and influence or impact decision making. In her prior role as Communications Director for Cornell’s Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future, Lauren was a member of the leadership team in the Center’s first years and was responsible for all communication and brand building strategies. In 2010, Lauren led the first college-level energy conservation project at Cornell for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The project encouraged behavioral change in the work place by leveraging the internet and social networks to promote sustainable behaviors. Lauren frequently presents on communications topics at conferences worldwide, and she conducts communication trainings for scientists of all ages.
