Kate Lanza is a 4th year PhD candidate at Binghamton University. She currently researches the role of dopamine receptors in the side effects associated with Parkinson’s Disease treatment. She accomplishes this using various biomolecular and behavioral analyses and hopes to continue doing research after her PhD is complete. Besides research, Kate is passionate about science communication and accessibility. She works on various outreach projects aimed at fostering scientific curiosity in younger individuals. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling and drinking coffee.
