Jackelyn  Hwang

Jackelyn was a PhD student in Sociology and Social Policy at Harvard University when she attended ComSciCon.  She is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Princeton University Office of Population Research.  She received her BAS in Sociology and Mathematics from Stanford, and after graduating from Stanford, she worked in education management for a community-based charter school in West Philadelphia. Her research interests include urban sociology, race and ethnicity, neighborhood effects, and inequality. Her current research develops alternative methods for detecting gentrification and examines how racial and ethnic contexts impact and are impacted by gentrification and the recent foreclosure crisis.
