Felicity Emerson is a first year PhD student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program at Cornell. She does research in Dr. Siu Sylvia Lee’s lab to understand the biological mechanisms underlying aging and neurodegeneration using the worm C. elegans. Felicity also volunteers with Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) and Advancing Secondary Science Education Thru Tetrahymena (ASSET) at Cornell to foster a love of science in K-12 students, and serves on the board of Cornell’s Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) organization to advocate for gender minorities in STEM. Outside of lab, she loves to relax with her cat, bake, and sing.
