Claire is in her third year of grad school at Harvard. By studying how galaxies are aligned with each other, she’s helping to build and interpret the most complete map of our nearby universe with the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). Claire loves planetariums and is currently creating a full-dome film for DESI. She’s also working on an educational research project exploring the effectiveness of astronomy as a gateway into long-term STEM engagement. She enjoys finding ways to creatively condense information; whether it be searching for the right statistics to quantify galaxies or the best way to present a complex science idea to the public. This is her third year with ComSciCon and she is the co-chair of the logistics committee. Claire likes to spend her free time outside, playing music, and creating astro-themed bakes!
