Christina is a postdoctoral research assistant for science education and engagement with Bassam Shakhashiri at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She develops educational content, participates in community activities, and actively works to foster community appreciation for science. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she developed procedures for studying long wavelength phototherapeutics. Christina is an avid reader and writer. Before graduate school, she worked at a public library for nearly a decade. Christina wishes to continue her career by using her engagement and writing skills to build connections between cultures, scientists and the community.
