Bill is a first year Ph.D. student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University. He recently completed a M.S. in Physics at Fisk University, where he investigated the connections between galaxies and dark matter halos using simulations. He also has an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, and B.A.'s in Physics and Philosophy.
Bill hopes that one day, he can bring an end to the bad physics classes in high school or college that most people seem to experience. Bill is passionate about making the science classroom a more welcoming and equitable place, and in understanding the historical, cultural, social, and political influences that shape science.
Outside of science, Bill can usually be found swimming with the Nashville Aquatic Club, playing his guitar, laying in a hammock with a good book, or sampling the goods of a local Nashville farmer's market with his fiance.
