A media and communications professional with 20 years experience, Atu is motivated by tackling
complex communications challenges. His work at the Cornell Alliance for Science includes leading the
organization's communications strategy, multimedia efforts, and serving as the media relations lead.
Originally from New York City, Atu has spent much of his adulthood living in Europe, soaking up
language, culture, and history on the Old Continent.
Atu came to the Cornell Alliance for Science after work at large international organizations, such as the
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the United Nations Information Centre for Greece, Cyprus
and Turkey, and at multinational, multicultural companies such as MTV Networks and Univision
Communications Inc. Atu was drawn to the Cornell Alliance for Science because of his passion for
science and the role it can play in solving the world's biggest problems.
Atu received his BA in Classics with certificates in Linguistics and Hellenic Studies from Princeton
University in 1999, and his Master's degree in International Relations from the Barcelona Institute of
International Studies in 2009. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Greece from 1999-2000.
