PhD candidate at Dalhousie University
Asmita is a PhD candidate in mathematics at Dalhousie University where she studies algebraic number theory, specifically integer-valued polynomials. She is passionate about math education and outreach at all levels, from elementary school to university. She works with high school students at a weekly club for math enrichment, as the assistant director for campus events at Nova Scotia Math Circles, and has acted as co-organizer for the 2018 and 2019 Math Camps held at Dalhousie. Asmita is also a member of the Canadian Mathematical Society Student Committee and is editor-in-chief of Notes from the Margin, a publication for undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics from across the country.
