Welcome to Virginia Tech's 3rd Annual ComSciCon!
The focus this year will be: Science Communication: Intersection between Community Engagement, Policy, and Art
ComSciCon is an annual science communication conference, organized by graduate students, for graduate students, that originated at Harvard University. The Communicating Science Club at Virginia Tech organized this local conference.
During ComSciCon-Virginia Tech 2022, we anticipate hosting seven workshops focused on the communication of complex and technical concepts both orally and through writing to policy makers, citizen scientists, community members, and other audiences. ComSciCon attendees meet and interact with professional communicators and build lasting networks with graduate students in all fields of science and engineering.
ComSciCon-Virginia Tech's kickoff event is on Friday, March 18th, followed by a full day of workshops and panels on Saturday, March 19th. We also have podcast episodes airing in February and March, developed by the Big Lick of Science, and a pre-recorded talk on culturally relevant science communication available to registered participants.
