Can postdocs apply?
Yes, please do! Note that we will give preference to graduate students, but we welcome applications from postdocs as well!
Will there be a prompt for the write-a-thon or can we bring something we're working on?
We will have a write-a-thon prompt that will be sent around to accepted participants. But if you'd prefer to bring something you're already working on, please do!
What is a pop talk?
A pop talk is essentially a 60 second elevator pitch about your research in front of the rest of the workshop participants. Our pop talk model will be based on a bit of a surprise element – participants won't know exactly when their pop talk will happen during the event, but every participant will give one!
I am from a neighboring state or am a Michigan resident attending an out-of-state university. Can I still apply?
Of course! Note that we will give preference to students/post-docs currently in Michigan and we might not be able to provide a travel stipend.
