ComsciCon-AIP is a two day event organized in collaboration between ComSciCon (Communicating Science Conference) and AIP (American Institute of Physcs), held at American Center for Physics in College Park Maryland on September 23-24, 2019. The ComSciCon workshops empower graduate students to communicate research in science, engineering and other technical fields to broad and diverse audiences. ComSciCon-AIP 2019 will focus on the physical sciences and the program will include panels on media engagement, policymaking, storytelling, and opportunities to network and workshop science communication pieces.
Our workshop program also weaves together sessions specifically designed for AIP Member Society Staff/Volunteers, as well as more general science communication programming. Staff/Volunteer members from all AIP Member Societies, Affiliated Societies, and Member Organizations are encouraged to attend!
Housing and full or partial travel support will be provided to all accepted student attendees and there will be no cost or fee to the attendees. Student applicants must be graduate students, or PhD students graduated in February 2019 or later, in residence at US institutions and must hold AIP Members or Affiliated Society membership. Student attendees will be selected through a competitive application process.
This workshop will be held in collaboration with the American Institute of Physics. The American Institute of Physics advances, promotes and serves the physical sciences for the benefit of humanity. AIP Member Societies cover a broad range of fields in the physical sciences and collectively represent more than 120,000 scientists, engineers, educators and students in the global physical sciences community.
