My interest in science began in college when I worked summers as a wilderness guide in the backcountry of Yellowstone and the deserts of Utah. It first began with ethnobotany. I wanted to understand how all these different plants were used. Since then I've worked as a high school teacher and farmer while carving out time to live and travel in other parts of the world (Patagonia!). Now I'm on the tail end of my Masters Degree, I'm working on developing a software application that communicates the complexity of an ecosystem to nonscientists. I have a long ways to go.
