Application now open for ComSciCon'14 national workshop

We are pleased to announce that the graduate student application for the next ComSciCon national workshop, to take place June 12-14th of 2014, is now open.  Visit our application page to access the application form and apply online.

The June 2014 ComSciCon event will be our second annual national workshop for graduate students.   Our series of workshops provide a unique professional development experience to graduate students engaged in and committed to communicating the results of research in science and engineering to broad and diverse audiences.   At the workshop, graduate student attendees will interact with young leaders in science communication from around the country, learn from professional communicators including journalists and educators, and will produce original works of science communication for publication.  Read about our past, 2013 national workshop for more information about ComSciCon programs and outcomes.

The application is open to graduate students at all US institutions in Masters or Ph.D. programs related to science or engineering.  Applicants accepted to the June workshop will attend the workshop free of charge, and will receive travel reimbursement and accommodations at Harvard University facilities.

The application will close on March 1st, 2014.  The workshop is sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Science, and Department of Astronomy at Harvard University, and the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center.

To receive announcements about this and future ComSciCon programs, potential graduate student participants may also sign up for our informational email list.

Participants in the ComSciCon-local 2014 workshop engage in a panel discussion with professional science writers.
