STEM Graduate Student and Post-Doctoral Researchers in the Houston area are invited to apply to attend the first annual ComSciCon-Houston Workshop. The workshop will take place over a span of two days, one week apart: March 11 & 18, 2017 on the campus of Rice University. Participants in this workshop will interact closely with experts in communicating science through written and digital media, as well as gain insight on how to utilize these skills throughout their careers.
The conference will feature a keynote speaker, pop talks, and four panels will speak to participants on the following topics:
- Science Writing
- Science Multimedia
- Communicating Science to Policymakers
- Careers in Science Communication
Participants will also get the chance to outline a science video for general audiences and receive feedback from experts in multimedia and film professions.
On March 10, 2017, one of our panelists, Dr. Oludurotimi Adetunji, will be giving a seminar on Communicating Science through Multimedia Platforms. The seminar will be held at Rice University Farnsworth Pavillion in the Rice Memorial Center from 10:00-11:00 AM. Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP here.
